Well I got bored lately and thought I would take a look at it again which it's now "Claws Mail". I've found it to be very stable, very fast and an abundance of easily configurable and powerful features. It's appearance is clean, appealing to the eye. HTML mail today is just a fact of life no matter how much I loath it. I'm using the gtkhml plugin and when I do get one of the offending HTML emails it does a nice job rendering it. What I love is that by default outgoing mail is in text, bravo to the developers. Not having to install all the bloat of a KDE program like Kmail is also a major plus. Kmail is "alright", Thunderbird is OK but I've found Claws very fast, appealing to the eye, lots of very powerful features and it fits my needs very well.
