I started using Notepad++ a few months ago to find an open source alternative to Dreamweaver, but something with a little more kick than Notepad2. So far I have been very pleased with the amount of customization that Notepad++ can handle. It also allows for plugins, which make it all the more dynamic. I installed the FTP plugin which works well. QuickText is also a nice time saver. All in all its a great editor.
I was using Pspad for a while but something about performance and limitation started to bug me. And the fact it wasn’t open source. Finally i run into notepad++ and i adopted it right away for programming in parallels with Pspad. Today the plug-ins allow me to use Notepad++ only .And the window manager plug ins give the look and feel of Kate (KDE).
