TomatoCart is an innovative open source shopping cart solution. It is forked from osCommerce 3 as a separate project and equipped with the web2.0 technology Ajax and Rich Internet applications (RIAs).
The most brilliant feature of TomatoCart is that it takes the lead to use web desktop application with ExtJS technology on the back end of a shopping cart solution. The web desktop application mimics the user experience of desktop Operating System, offering features and applications similar to a PC environment. In such a case, it is fairly easy for both beginners and professionals to use and master. In addition, it supports multi-window operation which enables users to work with several modules simultaneously. Applying to the web desktop application, users can improve efficiency of setting up stores, especially new stores, significantly.
On the front end TomatoCart provides users an easy way to customize their shops. It contains all common features that osCommerce 3 provides, and it also has several significant enhancements based on osCommerce 3:
- Rich Internet applications based administration panel
- Stock and price mgt. for product attributes
- Products quantity discount
- Content Management System
- Search Engine Optimization(SEO)
- Web analytics (Piwik)
And more features will come soon.
