Open source software is either miles ahead or miles behind currently existing closed source software. unfortunately, Traverso DAW, is quiet behind, because of the deep pockets of the professional developers, who created logic, and garage band, which is part of the i-life suite. You may be looking for Traveso, as you don’t own a Mac. For those interested in music mixing, I strongly suggest you pay for something such as mixcraft, as Traverso DAW lacks the expert background, the looks, the features and usability that closed source software has. It does not have a library of sounds, and features are seriously lacking. It is slow, even on my quad core computer, and i do not recommend it. I do believe this will change, however, although slow, as not many people are looking at amateur recording as a hobby.
