Every Git working directory is a full-fledged repository with complete history and full revision tracking capabilities, not dependent on network access or a central server.

You can store any types of files in eZimDMS, whereas the most common file types could be indexed, and therefore become searchable. PDFs, Images, Word & Excel Documents, Openoffice Documents, Web, and XML Documents may all be indexed by eZimDMS.

cyn.in combines the capabilities of collaboration tools like wikis, blogs, file repositories, micrologs instant discussions, other social applications into a seamless platform.

Compared to MS Project, which it closely emulates, OpenProj has a similar user interface (UI), and a similar approach to construction of a project plan: create an indented task list or work breakdown structure (WBS), set durations, create links (either by (a) mouse drag, (b) selection and then button-down, or (c) manually type in the ‘predecessor’ column), assign resources.

The columns (fields) are the same as for MS Project. Users of the one software should be broadly comfortable using the other. Costs are the same: labour, hourly rate, material usage, and fixed costs: these are all provided.

Its function is similar to commercial groupware/project management products, but allows the freedom and scalability of self-hosting.
